Post-Doctoral Fellow (The Black Dog Institute)

• Employment Type: Part-time (21 hours a week)
• Duration: Fixed Term contract until 23^rd July 2026
• Remuneration: $113,891 base pro-rata, plus 17% superannuation and leave loading  
• Location: Randwick, Sydney

Details of the role

The Post-Doctoral Fellow will contribute towards the research effort of the Black Dog Institute and to develop research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to their field of research. This role will be responsible for executing and coordinating research for the Professor of Clinician Psychology.

Some key skills required:

• A PhD in a psychology or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience working with children or young people with lived experience and/or learning difficulties.
• Experience working with and synthesising large datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
• Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
• Support the dissemination of research outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets.
• Undertake discipline-appropriate research activities, e.g. surveys, literature reviews, data gathering and/or recording of results using appropriate research methods.
• Conduct research (as per the norms of the discipline) and/or enable research teams to create scholarly output that is recognised by peers.
• Undertake specific research project/s under the guidance of a research leader and contribute to development of research activities.
