Why your role matters
The SEO/SEM (Digital Search) Analyst is responsible for querying, interrogating, reporting, and understanding UNSW’s overall digital search performance. Working closely with content marketing, paid media and paid search teams, the analyst will play a pivotal role in defining the life-long learner (LLL) and Marketing and Digital Experience (MDX) unit’s SEO and SEM strategy.
About the Role
You will be required to undertake and have experience in the following areas of expertise:
- Monitor SEO and SEM performance, developing SEO/CRO tests and provide recommendations to marketing, strategy, and product teams to enhance and optimise product development, marketing, and sales activity.
- Lead the creation and prioritisation of the LLL and MDX unit SEO roadmap and content prioritisation, seeking alignment and buy-in with internal stakeholders.
- Support reporting on digital activity, including report and dashboard building. Ensuring all relevant data feeds are live and accurately linking to relevant digital assets.
- Implement SEO audits and provide recommendations for optimisations.
- Knowledge optimising content for AI-first search experiences and understanding how AI systems interpret and surface web content is a plus.
- Undertake tests and analyses to support the optimisation of the University’s digital assets, such as website, landing pages, help pages, etc. for both search engines and end users. Assist with the development of a structured, standardised approach and roadmap to execute A/B testing. Collect and analyse data and identify trends and insights to maximise campaign ROI.
- Scale and improve SEO workflows and processes, with a focus on automation and efficiency.
- Support improved personalisation campaign execution, utilising a quantitative approach to define audience segments and channel attribution.
About You
- Tertiary degree in a related area, and/or relevant experience in digital search analytics in a commercial setting. Digital marketing / SEO certifications are highly desirable.
- Well-rounded experience in all aspects of SEO from content strategies to technical audits as well as SEO/CRO experimentation.
- Comfortable with generating technical documentation and briefings to communicate SEO strategies and technical search requirements.
- Hands-on experience with SEO and web analytic tools such as Adobe Analytics, Search Console, SEM Rush, Adobe Target, Site-Improve, Accutics, etc.
- Experience in paid search, media search, search engine marketing or similar roles is highly desirable as is experience with ad-tech and paid media campaign management.
- A bias for action, a knack for learning new things and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and productively as an effective team member, ensuring deadlines are met and work is delivered to a high standard.
