Why Your Role Matters
UNSW Canberra’s School of Business delivers multidisciplinary programs and collaborates with other schools at UNSW Canberra Campus. The primary focus of this appointment is to increase the school’s capacity for teaching, research, and higher degree research supervision in Economics and continue to forge multidisciplinary collaborations with other schools in research and teaching. This candidate will report directly to Head of School.
Applicants must have a PhD and should be available to commence teaching in Semester 2 (July 2025).
Accountabilities:
Level B
As a Lecturer in Economics, you are expected to contribute to the school’s undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the discipline using innovative course design, development, and delivery approaches. You will also carry out activities to develop your scholarly research and professional activities both nationally and internationally.
Level C
As a Senior Lecturer in Economics, you will make significant contributions the school’s undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the discipline using highly innovative course design, development, and delivery approaches You will also be encouraged to develop linkages with researchers from other Schools within UNSW Canberra and with the broader scholarly and practitioner communities, as well as provide leadership to post-doctoral and PhD students. A Senior Lecturer will conduct high-quality research and make a significant contribution to educational excellence in the School and Faculty.
About You (Qualifications, Skills and Experience):
- You must have a PhD in Economics or related areas and relevant work experience in delivering courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and other course offerings in Economics would be of particular interest.
- You have demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery: in face-to-face, online and intensive teaching at undergraduate/postgraduate levels, short courses, and/or lifelong learning courses and programs (award and non-award).
- You have experience in using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- You have a demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
- You have strong communication skills and the ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
- You have highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
