We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified candidates with demonstrated experience in academic libraries (preferable), or strong transferable skills, for casual/fixed term employment in the UNSW Canberra Liaison Librarian team.

 

About the Role:

Role: Liaison Librarian

Salary: HEW 7

Location: UNSW Canberra, ADFA campus

Requisite qualifications: Degree/postgraduate degree in an information management related discipline.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Provide high quality information, reference and research services, including specialised consultations to the UNSW Canberra university community
  • Advise and support teaching academics on the selection and use of information resources for learning, including course readings guidance
  • Produce and update digital teaching and learning objects (DTLO) including creating and maintaining subject/information guides and online tutorials
  • In collaboration with colleagues across the Library, undertake collection development activities in a discipline area
  • As a discipline specialist, act as the Library’s representative for a School/s and/or research centre/s and deliver comprehensive general and specialised information literacy and client education activities to UNSW Canberra stakeholders
  • Other duties within the scope of the classification as required.

 

About you

To be successful you will have:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in an information management related discipline with subsequent relevant experience (at least 3 years), preferably in an academic library). Eligibility for Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) will be well regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering instructional resources and information literacy training sessions
  • Well-developed liaison, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, together with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
  • Sound understanding of the higher education research lifecycle, including research impact and analytics, scholarly communication and publishing, research data management and open access
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent experience in Microsoft Office software and other applications/databases.
