The Division of Societal Impact, Equity & Engagement is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive community of staff and students while collaborating with partner communities and broader society to drive positive change. The division also plays a critical role in achieving key performance indicators related to staff and student equity.

The Project Implementation Officer will play a vital role in supporting the delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of a comprehensive project plan designed to advance departmental initiatives and contribute to the achievement of organisational goals. This position also involves providing administrative support across all workstreams within the Student Equity portfolio.

Reporting to the Head of Program - Student Equity, this role does not have any direct reports.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:  

  • Lead the development and delivery of a department-wide project plan, identifying interdependencies, milestones and deliverables.
  • Support the Head of Program – Student Equity to develop and monitor program and project budgets
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of timelines and clear mapping of required organisation outcomes.
  • Oversee task tracking, identifying, key team members responsible for tasks to help ensure project outcomes are achieved on time.
  • Develop and implement strategies and tools for the continuous monitoring and evaluation of projects, including running regular project meetings where stakeholders can identify and address issues and assess project progress and overall effectiveness.

About You:     

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with a depth of subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Extensive organisation and time management skills supporting a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and deliver on multiple competing project deadlines.
  • Advanced level of skills in Microsoft Office applications and other applications/databases.
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft Project for Web or similar project management software
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
