The Trailblazer for Recycling and Clean Energy (TRaCE) was awarded to the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the University of Newcastle (UoN) to boost research and development and drive commercialisation outcomes with industry over the four years to 2026-27.
The two universities have joined forces to lead this $280 million program comprised of a range of research commercialisation initiatives that will help Australia and the world fast-track the transition to sustainable recycling and clean energy solutions and systems.
The TRaCE Administrator will assist in the coordination and administration of TRaCE programs to support the commercialisation of recycling and clean energy technology. They will work closely with the Program Manager to ensure programs are executed effectively and meet their objectives. They will facilitate communication and collaboration between industry partners, researchers, and other stakeholders, and monitor program progress, preparing reports for the Program Manager and Research & Commercialisation Director.
The role will work closely with the TRaCE Program Manager to ensure each program provides new, value-added incentives, and influences new ways of working and policies that contribute to a stronger commercial, entrepreneurial and research translation culture within UNSW and the University of Newcastle.
The role reports to the TRaCE Program Manager and has no direct reports.
This role will:
- Provide high level administrative support.
- Provide specialist advice relating to administrative processes.
- Develop and maintain filing systems, spreadsheets, databases and websites.
- Draft agendas, minutes, correspondence, briefing notes, and guidelines for specific committees and meetings where stakeholders are more senior.
- Respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, and action or escalate as necessary.
- Facilitate administration requests, including purchasing, travel, credit card reconciliation, expense reimbursements, payment requests and billing processes.
A person engaged is generally expected to have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant qualification with strong administrative work experience.
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
- Excellent level of skills in Microsoft Office software and other applications/databases.
