Why Your Role Matters

The Future Student Marketing Lead is a specialist role responsible for leading performance marketing across owned, paid, and other channels. It is responsible for managing the strategy and implementation across the full marketing funnel to efficiently recruit UNSW’s key future student audiences, domestic undergraduate, domestic postgraduate and international students. 

This role is responsible for the campaigns, tools and processes that underpin the operations of the Marketing team at UNSW including insights, data, creative assets, budgets and optimisation. The role will collaborate across UNSW to ensure our marketing programs are delivered to the highest standards for the greatest return on investment.  The role also ensures correct messaging and branding for an audience, stewarding creative excellence and improving the effectiveness of owned and paid marketing channels.  

The Future Students Marketing Lead reports to the Head of Future Students Marketing & Content and has one to three direct reports. 

Main responsibilities Summary

  • Lead go-to-market programs for the university with a focus on driving awareness, performance marketing, search, and content performance, to achieve targets including generating leads, enrolments and lowering the cost per enrolment  
  • Lead the successful ideation, implementation, review and optimisation of marketing programs to recruit target audiences 
  • Work closely with a variety of stakeholders including agencies, faculties, social media and content teams to ensure successful campaigns within budget
  • Own, develop, and optimise all customer-facing content and communications with respect to marketing programs
  • Utilise data and insights to understand and communicate competitive position and to make recommendations to improve outcomes 
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing team to implement digital uplift initiatives leveraging insights from the Adobe marketing stack
  • Manage creative and media agencies to achieve target business outcomes, including establishing regular schedule of communications
  • Manage budgets efficiently, ensuring all activity is delivered to budget and on time, including the maintenance of clear documentation

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who feels aligned with UNSW’s vision and values, who is organised and energised by working with multiple people. We’d love you to come equipped with:

  • Demonstrated experience in full-funnel/omni-channel marketing
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in implementing paid and organic campaigns, managing production with creative agencies and reporting on performance
  • Demonstrated experience leading and coaching a team, even if it’s in a junior or influencer capacity
  • Demonstrated digital marketing experience including understanding of marketing automation, SEO optimisation and customer lifecycle marketing. Experience working with ADOBE stack or equivalent enterprise level marketing solutions is essential.
  • Experience of agile ways of working will be desirable
  • Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to present marketing results in a compelling way and liaise effectively with students, staff and external stakeholders.

Candidates will need to have full working rights – this role is not available for sponsorship. Whilst you may see this role advertised more broadly, the positions needs to be based in Sydney NSW.
