Why Your Role Matters:
The School of Science is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Mathematics.  The School encompasses the disciplines of Physics & Oceanography, Chemistry, Geography, Aviation and Mathematics & Statistics.  A comprehensive program of Mathematics courses is taught from first through to third year and forms part of a three-year Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Mathematics, or a four-year Honours degree.  A PhD program is also offered. 

The School has strong research profiles in Bushfire Research and Number Theory. The UNSW Canberra Bushfire Research Group leads cutting-edge investigations into bushfire behaviour, including dynamic fire propagation, pyro-convective feedback, and risk modelling at the wildland-urban interface. The Number Theory group explores the properties of integers through advanced algebraic and analytic techniques, with active research in additive combinatorics, exponential sums, and the distribution of primes. Who You Are (skills and experience): 

A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.

• Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.

• Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.

• Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.

• Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales).

• Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Appointment as a senior lecturer requires evidence of qualifications for that level.
