Remuneration: Academic Level B or Level C $123K- $150K per annum (based on experience) + 17% Super + Annual Leave Loading

Why this role matters:

The Discipline of Pharmacy is seeking two innovative and committed academics at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level to join our growing team. These roles may be appointed as either research and teaching or education-focused positions, depending on the candidate’s background and interests.

Successful candidates will contribute to the delivery of high-quality pharmacy education through engaging teaching, curriculum development, and academic leadership. We are particularly interested in candidates who bring fresh perspectives on the future of pharmacy and can incorporate emerging practice areas into their teaching to inspire the next generation of pharmacists.

Teaching responsibilities will span pharmacotherapeutics, pharmacy practice (including law and ethics), with preference given to applicants who integrate pharmaceutical sciences and demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary, practice-informed education.

These positions report to the Pharmacy Program Authority/Discipline Lead and the Head of School and have no direct reports.

Skills Required:

At Lecturer (Level B)

  • A PhD in Pharmacy or other related discipline
  • Registration with AHPRA as a pharmacist in Australia (highly desirable)
  • Experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate the teaching of pharmaceutical sciences with therapeutics and pharmacy practice
  • Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods
  • Research outputs commensurate with a strong performing early career researcher (For T&R).
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training

At Senior Lecturer (Level C, in addition to the above)

  • Significant experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses (subjects) and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
  • Evidence of professional development in teaching and a strong track record of teaching excellence, including fostering this in others; with the ability to advance and lead an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching
  • Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to attract funding for learning and teaching or other research initiatives
  • Attract peer recognition and establish research network/s (based on the norms of the discipline) at national level. (For T&R)
  • Obtain research income from nationally competitive research grants (and/or research fellowships) and research end-users as a member or leader (may include education research/funding), at or above the level that is relevant to the discipline in leading universities. (For T&R)
