Why Your Role Matters 

The Faculty Recruitment Officer is responsible for supporting the management of faculty product portfolios and achieving program-level recruitment targets. This position requires expertise in faculty product marketing to optimise program positioning, enhance product recruitment knowledge, and execute targeted recruitment activities driven by both central teams and individual faculties.  

This role is crucial in supporting and meeting future student load planning targets by coordinating and implementing key recruitment and marketing activities for the faculty. The successful person will represent the faculty in in a variety of student recruitment contexts, both domestically and internationally, as required. Additionally, they will maintain a key supportive function in connecting the Faculty and future student recruitment teams, ensuring that faculty needs are addressed while collaborating with Central recruitment teams and the Marketing Strategy and Content Team to achieve superior outcomes for the UNSW community. 

The Faculty Recruitment Officer reports to the Senior Recruitment Product Manager and has no direct reports. This is a fixed term contract until mid-September 2025. 

Main responsibilities summary 

Accountabilities as a Level 6: 

  • Deliver all faculty program recruitment activity to meet future student enrolment KPIs 

  • Drive achievement of faculty recruitment numbers for UG/PGCW at a program level for local and international markets 

  • Work collaboratively with heads of Schools/Programs to strengthen program positioning 

  • Support successful new faculty program launches, drive improved depth of faculty product knowledge and quality of training materials to support all recruitment activity 

  • Coordinate delivery of all faculty product training materials and events  

  • Represent the faculty at student recruitment events, expos, school and agent locally (mostly within NSW) 

  • Represent the faculty during peak recruitment periods, providing support to the enquiry centre via faculty specific outbound calling and conversion activity as required. 

  • Provide faculty and program level input requirements to shape central and bespoke marketing content and campaigns, collateral, presentations and other future student communication touchpoints. 

Accountabilities as a Level 7 (in addition to the above): 

  • Work collaboratively with faculty stakeholders to develop new programs; develop and deliver complex recruitment strategies to ensure growth 

  • Monitor and report on recruitment numbers, providing strategic advice and implementing corrective actions as needed 

  • Represent the faculty in marketing meetings and contribute to recruitment initiatives, including training programs and event design

Who You Are 

We are looking for someone who understands and is aligned with UNSW’s vision and values, who loves presenting and engaging with an audience and who also comes equipped with: 

  • A sales/marketing background, ideally in the higher education sector and student recruitment 

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and achievement orientation in a KPI driven sales/marketing context. An ability to set targets, plan work with competing priorities and review return on investment 

  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic outcomes with pragmatic short-term requirements to deliver successful outcomes with momentum 

  • Excellent collaboration skills, relationship management skills, with a demonstrated track record of fostering and maintaining strong and successful internal and external networks 

  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with proven attention to accuracy and detail 

  • Higher Education experience across local and international markets is highly desirable 

  • A valid NSW Working with Children Check  

The role operates Monday to Friday, business hours; there will be occasional work in some evenings (events or work trips) and weekends (Open Days). Flexible working arrangements are available (generally 3 days in the office, 2 days home).
