Why Your Role Matters:
UNSW Canberra (Capability Systems Centre)is launching a new initiative to spearhead academia-government-industry partnerships and collaborations in the emerging area of Digital Engineering. This initiative aims to accelerate Australia's digital transformation by delivering cutting-edge research and innovation, educating the next generation of the digital workforce, and building a dynamic digital ecosystem. By collaborating with industry, research, and government partners, we will address digital transformation challenges and provide innovative solutions.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving effective partnerships by initiating and leading industry-focused projects that create value for stakeholders and the University. They will bring a strong record of multi-disciplinary collaborations, expertise in working across boundaries, and proven skills in leading and working in diverse teams.
Who You Are (skills and experience):
Our ideal candidate will have:
Highly Desirable
- NV1 clearance is highly desirable
- A PhD in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Proven extensive expertise in the design, planning, and delivery of industry-focused education offerings and knowledge transfer activities, such as short courses, micro-credentials, and facilitated workshops.
- Evidence of the outstanding capacity to effectively translate research to practical outcomes is essential.
- A track record of successfully supervising high-quality PhD/Masters research students or other research-based projects is highly desirable.
- Significant expertise in advanced systems engineering topics and application areas that will contribute to growing the field of Digital Engineering. Some examples, but not limited to, might include AI intersections with systems engineering, agile systems engineering, digital architectures, mission engineering, and Model-based systems engineering. Application areas may include, but are not limited to: industry 4.0, Defence, and national security.

Eligibility:

The successful candidate will be required to work from the UNSW Canberra campus. To be successful you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. UNSW is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
