Remuneration: Level 8 from $123,044 to $138,636 plus 17% Superannuation

Why Your Role Matters:
This is a leave cover period and a fantastic opportunity for anyone who has identified an interest in a management role within a School. The School Manager will work with the Acting Head of School to ensure priorities for the rest of 2024 are delivered.  These include: the School External Strategic Review, the School Research Showcase Event, School events that support the teaching and research outcomes.  The School Manager reports to the Head of School (HoS) and has a dotted line report to the Deputy Faculty Executive Director (DFED).

Responsibilities: 
A School Manager plays a key role within UNSW Canberra, providing operational leadership and effective management of the School of Business. The role is essential to advance, develop, evaluate, and maintain teaching and research strategies that align with UNSW Canberra’s mission, and to provide strategic and operational management advice to the Head of School on the full range of School activities and performance.

Who You Are: 

  • An experienced School Administrator with an understanding of the core functions supporting the Teaching and Research strategic goals at the school level.
  • Relevant degree and extensive experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Competent conceptual and analytical skills with a demonstrated capacity to apply them in a range of professional functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and management, and proven ability to interpret financial data to provide high quality advice.
  • Strong consultation, influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven skills and experience in resource planning, goal setting and project management.
