The Opportunity

  • Full-time (35 hours week) | 15-month fixed term contract.
  • $127,351-$143,489 + 17% super + leave loading.

The Division of Research & Enterprise (DVCRE) is responsible for the strategic direction and performance of research and innovation at UNSW. The Division also looks after Researcher Profiles - the university’s searchable database of experts - which are used to connect with industry, government and community partners, media, researchers from other institutions, prospective PhD candidates and UNSW staff.

The Project Manager (Researcher Profiles) will play a lead role in the planning, development and implementation of the Researcher Profiles transformation project. The project is designed to uplift the Profiles through enhancements to technical systems, content, search and discoverability, data entry and user experience.

The role will take ownership of the project lifecycle and oversee end-to-end delivery. This includes assembling cross-functional working groups, managing quality assurance and stakeholder engagement, maintaining rigorous documentation and navigating change.

The role reports to the Engagement & Communication Manager, Division of Research & Enterprise and has no direct reports.

Who you are

You can demonstrate your project management experience, with an in-depth understanding of the project lifecycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives and documentation, as well as:

  • Ability to guide stakeholders through organisational change.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Working collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation. Strengths in negotiation and influencing stakeholders to align on project goals.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
  • High level of experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, Trello, SmartSheet, SharePoint and Adobe Experience Manager.
  • Time management skills, with the ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines.
  • Capacity to work productively within a team, but also to take initiative and operate independently.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
