Remuneration: Level B from $123,620/ Level C from $150,148 plus 17% superannuation

Why Your Role Matters
In this balanced role you will impact our educational excellence, and make a significant contribution to collegiality, engagement and leadership in the School and Faculty. The position requires physical attendance at UNSW Canberra, including face-to-face teaching. The School of Systems & Computing  is a vibrant place with key focus areas in computer science, cyber security, systems engineering, optimisation, and artificial intelligence. The school’s academic staff pride themselves in providing excellent education to undergraduate and postgraduate student cohorts in a variety of delivery modes, while also conducting cutting-edge research in interdisciplinary teams with a focus on societal impact. This position reports to the Head of School (School of Systems & Computing) and has no direct reports.

 

Who You Are (skills and experience): 

  • A PhD in computer science or a related discipline, plus relevant work experience.

• Demonstrated experience in face-to-face teaching and learning design using a variety of delivery modes at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.

• Experienced at engaging and inspiring students from diverse backgrounds, supporting student equity and inclusion, and fostering independent learning through meaningful assessment and helpful feedback.

• Demonstrated evolving track record in research and HDR student supervision with high quality with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence and contribute to external research funding applications, as well as an evolving capacity for research leadership.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships with the profession and industry. Evidence of highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.

  • Research experience in cyber security, AI or systems engineering is highly desirable.
