Remuneration: $85,717 + 17% superannuation + leave loading

Location: Kensington, New South Wales

Why this role matters:

The Research Assistant will support the BUBs Quit smoking cessation in pregnancy study within the Population and Child Health group. Working across various hospitals and AMIHS in Sydney and NSW (in person or via Teams), the role involves quantitative and qualitative data collection, systematic review tasks, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary research team.

The Research Assistant reports to the Project Coordinator, the Professor and has no direct reports.

Skills Required:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in health, psychology, behavioural science or a related discipline or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment to achieve team objectives within set timeframes.
  • Highly motivated with excellent time management, organisational and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and sensitivity to confidentiality and privacy.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, ie. MS office suite including spreadsheets.
  • Experience/knowledge of qualitative research methods.
  • Experience/knowledge of basic data science database programs, statistical software (ie. R, SPSS, SAS).
  • Experience/knowledge survey data collection and data management (ie. REDCap).
