Why your role matters

We are seeking a talented Business Analyst to join our Marketing & Digital Experience team, playing a vital role in aligning business objectives with innovative technical solutions. This position focuses on analysing and defining business requirements while identifying opportunities to leverage technology for enhanced efficiency, cost reduction, and revenue growth.

As a key member of the Future Students and Digital Solutions cross-functional squads, you will ensure technical solutions align with business goals and deliver measurable value to UNSW. You will communicate progress, manage risks, and address issues with stakeholders, contributing to the seamless delivery of strategic initiatives.

Reporting to the Integrated Planning Manager and working closely with the Future Student Digital Experience team, this role offers a collaborative environment where your expertise can drive meaningful change. This position does not include direct reports.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:  

  • Participate fully within the Future Students team, contributing to creating a respected and valued student-focused service. Leading process improvements, investigating, analysing, and documenting business processes and the underlying business model for a system or process area.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across UNSW to understand business needs and document business requirements. This may involve identifying pain points, and defining the desired outcomes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that digital initiatives align with business goals and objectives, and with the IT team to develop and implement digital solutions that are both technically feasible and aligns with the business objectives.
  • Have a working knowledge of UNSW’s suite of Adobe Marketing and Content Management System (CMS) as well as a broad understanding of the marketing technology landscape in order to provide guidance on best practices and innovative uses of these products.

About You:     

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, IT or related field, with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a digital business analyst role or similar
  • Strong experience with Adobe Products, including Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Analytics, and Adobe Campaign or similar technology platforms.
  • Advanced consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse range of stakeholders at different levels within an organisation to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrable strong problem solving and analytical skills, and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
  • Outstanding organisational and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across a matrix organisation, ideally with experience of Agile Methodologies
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Working knowledge of the Higher Education industry and related technologies is desirable.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
