The Opportunity

  • Hybrid/Flexible working arrangements
  • Level 5/6 -starting from $85,717 + 17% super, pro-rata
  • Full-time (35 hours week), fixed term contract ending 15 October 2025

The Operations Officer will work within the team dedicated to the maintenance and data integrity of the research information and management system (lnfoEd); including system administration and quality assurance; and the delivery of high-quality customer focused services to the University. The Operations Officer will contribute to the culture of innovation and continuous improvement by identifying more efficient business processes.

The Operations Officer reports to the Senior Manager, Operations and has no direct reports.

The Organisation

The Division of Research & Enterprise at UNSW is responsible for the strategic research direction and overall research performance of the University, and in particular, maintaining and advancing the University's profile in research and research training, as well as technology transfer.

Who you are

Level 5

You have a relevant tertiary qualification and or experience in the delivery of operational and administrative support services and ability to provide innovative solutions to problems, as well as:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively to multiple audiences.
  • Working effectively with information management systems to analyse and interpret management reports (e.g., lnfoEd, RMS, RGMS).
  • Decision-making capacity showing the ability to utilise information and knowledge, the experience to analyse and form sound judgements and take action within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Ability to write procedures and document workflow processes.
  • Organisational and time management skills to ensure effective delivery of administrative support services.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

Level 6 (in addition to level 5)

  • An excellent understanding of implementing quality assurance practices into operations and a commitment to best practice.
  • Advanced proficiency in a range of computing skills including but not limited to Sharepoint, Power Automate, Power Bl.
  • High-level skills in documentation of procedures and workflow processes.
  • Analysis and interpretation of management reports, utilising Excel pivot.
  • Demonstrated experience in ticketing and chatbot systems.
  • Ability to provide creative and innovative solutions to problems. 
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines
