Research Assistant (Prince of Wales Randwick Campus)

  • Employment Type: Full - time (35 hours a week)
  • Duration: Fixed Term contract until 31st December 2025
  • Remuneration: $78,584 base, plus 17% superannuation and leave loading  
  • Work rights required: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.
  • Location: Randwick, Sydney

Details of the role

A Research Assistant plays a key role within the Faculty of Medicine & Health in providing practical research and administrative support for project teams and key stakeholders. The purpose of this role is to assist with the conduct of a research project in the Molecular Mechanisms in Leukaemia laboratory, which will involve developing and implementing research activities and liaising with the Head of the Laboratory.

The role reports to the Head of the Molecular Mechanisms in Leukaemia Laboratory and has no direct reports.

Some key skills required:

  • Assist with the preparation of ethics applications/amendments, grant applications, abstracts, annual and progress reports and research outputs
  • Demonstrate attention to detail in data entry, cross-referencing against project deliverables to ensure accuracy
  • Assist with the coordination of research activities and provide research support to meet project milestones
  • Provision of general administrative support including attendance at meetings and training sessions and responding to enquiries and referrals with regards to research studies
  • Maintain accurate and organised research lab notebook entries and data records
  • Collaborate and maintain relationships with researchers and stakeholders associated with the projects and research groups
  • Advanced Diploma, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training and experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and analytical abilities
