Why The Role Matters:

The Education Innovation and Excellence Unit is responsible for managing and supporting the strategy, leadership and governance of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and learning across the Faculty of ADA. This includes facilitating education support efforts for the Faculty, operationalising the Faculty’s learning and teaching strategy, ensuring Faculty compliance and providing high-level advice and information to staff within the Faculty.

The Educational Content Developer is responsible for supporting the design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning, teaching and assessment. The role works closely with ADA academics and other professional staff to provide advice and support on the design and development of programs and courses, instructional strategies and learning activities, assessment and feedback strategies, and the creation of engaging and supportive multimodal learning experiences.


Accountabilities:

  • Work collaboratively with academics to develop undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, incorporating effective delivery strategies in engaging and accessible content formats, aligning learning activities, assessments and feedback.
  • Assist with the design, development and enhancement of programs and/or courses to meet the specific learning outcomes through face-to-face, blended or virtual learning environments, in collaboration with academic staff.
  • Provide support in designing or re-designing assessment instruments. This may include advice on assessment methods and platforms, learning outcomes alignment, guidance on assessment models and best practice, assistance with developing assessments and rubrics.
  • Contribute to the design and facilitation of professional development activities, self-directed training and support material in f2f, online, blended and hybrid mode.
  • Assist with and engage staff in the implementation of quality assurance and enhancement processes.
  • Support the development of staff capabilities to design and deliver high quality digitally enabled learning and teaching.
  • Build capability for blended and online learning through piloting and trialling new technologies and pedagogies.

Skills and Experience: 

To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and experience working with the design and development of academic programs and courses and/or any combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in development contribution to curriculum/program/course design and digital content/resources, including web-based learning management systems
  • High-level problem-solving skills and ability to exercise initiative and to be adaptive and innovative in developing and pursuing pedagogical solutions; together with a service orientation and with a “client- customer” focus.
  • Current technical knowledge and operational understanding of TELT platforms and tools.
  • An understanding of learning theories, pedagogical practices, and their relationship to emerging educational technologies, digital transformation, and the democratisation of knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an academic learning & teaching environment or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective collaborative professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
