Senior Research Associate (Aboriginal Youth Health)

  • Employment Type: Part - time (21 hours a week)
  • Duration: 2-Year Fixed Term
  • Remuneration: $123,620 base prorated (+17% super and leave loading)
  • Location/Travel: Based at Kensington, Sydney but the role will require some travel within NSW and will require a current Full NSW drivers’ licence.

Our work ranges from responding to emerging public health crises to training the future health workforce. You’ll join a considerable institution of learners, thinkers, researchers and innovators, with more than 1000 undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students and 200 research candidates enrolled in our School.

Why this role matters:

This researcher will be is expected to carry out research in the field Aboriginal youth health, contributing to the conduct of the Next Generation Cohort Study.

Who you are:

  • A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated track record in working collaboratively and respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people both in community and health care settings.
  • A track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
  • High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Full NSW driver licence and ability to travel regularly.
