The Opportunity


We are looking for a Regional Business Development Manager for ASEAN & North Asia to drive sales strategies and achieve onshore and international enrollment targets, enhancing ROI for UNSW. In this role, you will implement regional sales plans aligned with the UNSW Future Student strategy, focusing on increasing engagement and market share in key ASEAN markets to improve student diversity.

You will also lead improvements in account management, CRM practices, and channel development across schools, articulations, and sponsors. As a key member of the international recruitment team, you will deputise for the Head of International Recruitment and collaborate with university stakeholders to meet high-quality student recruitment targets. This position reports to the Head of International Recruitment and manages a team of 8 with 4 direct reports.

Who you are   


You will be an experienced sales leader with a background in student recruitment, particularly across the ASEAN region. As a skilled communicator and a hands-on strategic thinker, you are confident in leading and motivating a remote team to deliver against competing priorities with a pragmatic, balanced strategic and tactical approach, alongside: 

  • Proven history of successful sales management and achieving targets in education, or other professional services markets, including notable experience within ASEAN and international markets.  
  • Sound people management skills, with demonstrated experience in leading a sales team including recruitment, training, coaching, territory management, B2B account management, and performance management.  
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills with a capacity to work effectively within a matrix structure, with focus on collaborating with and influencing stakeholders.  
  • Experienced relationship builder with high cultural awareness and diplomacy skills.   
  • Proven track record in executing conversion and retention strategies utilising CRM and lead management automation tools.  
  • Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to apply judgement to work both strategically and operationally to achieve successful, cost-effective outcomes.
