The Opportunity
The Postdoctoral Fellow will join a team working to deploy photoluminescence and imaging metrology for silicon photovoltaics. You will take a lead on independent research in the area of photoluminescence and metrology, managing research outcomes, analysis of the research and preparation of results for presentation at meetings.
The role of Research Fellow reports to Thorsten Trupke and has no direct reports.
- Level B - Salary, $109,365 to $121,101 per annum + 17% superannuation
- Full time
- Fixed-term contract – 24 months
- Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Selection Criteria
- PhD in Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy or related area.
- At least five years research experience in photoluminescence and metrology applied to silicon photovoltaics and associated data analysis and theoretical modelling
- Expertise in both thin-film and bulk crystalline silicon technologies with a deep understanding of relevant semiconductor physics.
- Industry or commercialisation experience in silicon photovoltaics manufacturing, development or deployment.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Strong track record of innovation, industry engagement, publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Proven ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
- Demonstrated ability to supervisor honours and postgraduate research students.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
