Postdoctoral Research Fellow (3 Positions)

  • 2 X (3-year fixed-term contract) Full time  ( 35/hrs per week) 
  • 1 x (3-year Fixed term contract )Part-time (17.5/hrs per week) 
  • Salary: $109,365- $128,926K Plus 17% super and Leave loading (pro-rata for part-time position)

We are now seeking three Postdoctoral Research Fellows in the following areas:

• Health Focus Area (People Program) (two full-time Academic Level B positions and one 0.5 FTE Academic Level B position)

The Postdoctoral Research Fellows will contribute to a number of projects within the Centre of Excellence, with a particular focus on ADM and associated digital technologies as they are applied in the domains of public health, healthcare and disability.

Two of the Fellows (one full-time and one 0.5 FTE position) will be based at the Centre for Social Research in Health and Social Policy Research Centre at UNSW Sydney under the leadership of Professor Deborah Lupton, while one full-time Fellow will be based in the Disability Innovation Institute at UNSW Sydney under the leadership of Professor Jackie Leach Scully. All Fellows will collaborate actively with the Centre of Excellence’s national and international network of participants. All Centre postdoctoral research fellows will also have access to the Centre of Excellence’s research training and professional development opportunities, international visiting fellowships and exchanges (travel arrangements permitting), and the Centre’s network of industry partners.

This role will report, in the first instance to Professor Deborah Lupton, Jackie Leach Scully and ultimately to Professor Carla Treloar and has no direct reports

Accountabilities

(Position 1)

One Health/People Fellow Level B Full-time reporting to Prof Lupton 

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

  • Conduct high-quality research relevant to the Health Focus Area and People Program, both independently and as part of project teams
  • Prepare and publish research outcomes in relevant high-quality refereed journals, reports and/or books
  • Present research outcomes at seminars, conferences and industry meetings, and engage with external stakeholders
  • Contribute to public understanding and debate through media, industry and/or policy engagement
  • Contribute actively to the ARC Centre’s research culture, including participation in research collaboration and community-building within the Centre’s research programmes and focus areas
  • Assist in the management of research ethics and governance
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of research projects
  • Ensure that all UNSW, Faculty and Centre policies, procedures and codes of practice are adhered to at all times
  • Align with and actively demonstrate the UNSW Values in Action: Our Behaviours and the UNSW Code of Conduct.
  • Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.

(Position 2)

One Health/People Fellow Level B Part-Time 0.5FTE reporting to Prof Lupton 

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

  • Assist with the design and curation of materials for creative methods workshops and exhibitions (including online methods)
  • Conduct high-quality research relevant to the Health Focus Area and People Program, both independently and as part of project teams
  • Prepare and publish research outcomes in relevant high-quality refereed journals, reports and/or books
  • Present research outcomes at seminars, conferences and industry meetings, and engage with external stakeholders
  • Contribute to public understanding and debate through media, industry and/or policy engagement
  • Contribute actively to the ARC Centre’s research culture, including participation in research collaboration and community-building within the Centre’s research programmes and focus areas
  • Ensure that all UNSW, Faculty and Centre policies, procedures and codes of practice are adhered to at all times
  • Align with and actively demonstrate the UNSW Values in Action: Our Behaviours and the UNSW Code of Conduct.

(Position 3)

  • Prepare and publish research outcomes in relevant high-quality refereed journals, reports and/or books
  • Present research outcomes at seminars, conferences and industry meetings, and engage with external stakeholders
  • Contribute to public understanding and debate through media, industry and/or policy engagement
  • Contribute actively to the ARC Centre’s research culture, including participation in research collaboration and community-building within the Centre’s research programmes and focus areas
  • Assist in the management of research ethics and governance
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of research projects
  • Ensure that all UNSW, Faculty and Centre policies, procedures and codes of practice are adhered to at all times
