About the Opportunity

The Senior Officer, EF Communities of Practice is a key position in the Academic & EF Development theme, within the Education Pillar of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education & Student Experience and is responsible for managing and growing the UNSW Education Focussed Communities of Practice (CoPs) through various activities including workshops, training, forums and events.

This entails proactive engagement with the UNSW academic community, in particular Education Focussed academics through the delivery of communications plans and outreach activities. The role is also responsible for supporting professional learning communities that recognise and build the educational leadership capacity of Education Focussed academics aligned with the UNSW 2025 Strategy to enhance educational excellence and the student experience

About the Successful Candidate

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience
  • Demonstrated experience with and an understanding of issues facing Education Focussed academics and the key issues currently impacting leadership development
  • Demonstrated experience supporting change within a complex organisational environment, experience with the development of Communities of Practice desirable
  • Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders at different levels within a higher education context
  • Strong service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships with staff at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Advanced organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail with proven ability to work according to strict deadlines and to manage competing demands
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively and to contribute positively and proactively to the team’s work. Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative and judgement and the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability in the management and delivery of career development events and engagement activities within a higher education setting
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and analyse data, prepare reports, provide feedback and create action plans
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
