Details of the role
A Research Assistant (RA) is responsible for research support to ongoing clinical trials within the Therapeutic and Vaccine Research Program (TVRP).
The RA will support study analytics and evidence generation, including preparing and validating data, producing summary outputs for reporting, conducting literature reviews and contributing to publications.
The role of Research Assistant reports to the Clinical Trials Manager and has no direct reports.
Some key skills required:
- Degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, biomedical science, medicine or related discipline with subsequent relevant experience in the conduct of multicentre clinical trials, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and validating clinical research datasets and generating analysis outputs using statistical software.
- Experience with Medrio, REDCap or similar eCRF systems, and strong Excel skills; aptitude to learn new software and data tools.
- High attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication and effective time management across competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and to take initiative while working independently.
- Knowledge of ICH-GCP and research integrity principles and familiarity with HIV/ART clinical research desirable.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to manuscripts, conference outputs and study documents.
- Ability to review and resolve statistical/data queries in collaboration with data managers and study investigators.
