A Senior Lecturer is committed to high quality teaching and take a leadership role in the development and delivery of local training opportunities within the relevant discipline, leading and supporting the establishment of initiatives that provide and develop innovative training solutions and pathways.
The role of Senior Lecturer reports to the Head of School and has several direct reports.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Establish a strong record of demonstrated scholarly research and professional achievement
- Design, convene and deliver tuition in Psychiatry to students in the undergraduate program
- Contribute to the development of course resources evaluation of teaching within the department for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with other academic staff in the enhancement of the scholarship of learning and teaching in the Department
- Conduct high-quality research in digital e-health in psychiatry by contributing to or initiating applications for external research funds, publication of research findings in high-impact journals, and provide a high standard of supervision or co- supervision of undergraduate and Honours students
- Establish and maintain constructive partnerships with clinical schools within the Faculty, institutes of medical research, and other appropriate research partners
Skills and Experience:
- Medical degree (i.e. MBBS or MD) with medical registration in Australia
- Possession of FRANZCP or equivalent qualification
- Relevant degree in Psychiatry or a related discipline with demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of current issues in Psychiatry.
- Proven track record as a research innovator, with proven expertise in digital health
- Demonstrated experience in higher education, including delivery of high-quality teaching, curriculum development and professional development
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including proven ability to proactively interact, collaborate with staff and students from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated high level written communication and presentation skills, including development of modern educational material at the tertiary education level
