Why Your Role Matters:

The Development Officer Trusts and Foundations, is an exciting opportunity to build UNSW’s fundraising program and help contribute to all the amazing work achieved at the University. Reporting to the Head of Development, you will implement philanthropic strategies and build relationships to help reach our fundraising goals. This role looks after Trust and Foundations, including writing and reporting on philanthropic grant applications across the whole university.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage a portfolio that have the potential to make a significant philanthropic gift
  • Work collaboratively with academic leaders to identify areas that require support
  • Prepare proposals, solicitation letters, grant applications, written presentations and other cultivation materials
  • Collaborate to develop gift ideas and strategies whilst ensuring we are compliant with current ATO standards
  • Execute an annual work plan to maximise effectiveness and ensure KPIs are achieved

Who You Are:

  • Experienced in Philanthropy, donor relations or advancement highly regarded
  • Strong written and verbal skills including the ability to write persuasively and present complex information into a clear and compelling way
  • A background in account management or business development is beneficial
  • Experience working effectively in a large complex organisation with various stakeholders
  • Described as a team player, creative, proactive, resourceful and organised individual
  • Knowledge of fundraising and tax laws that impact charitable giving, personal assets and estates
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and able to build fruitful relationships
