The Tertiary Referral Service for Psychosis (TRSP) within the Mindgardens Neuroscience Network will offer intensive and individualised therapeutic approaches for people who live with complex psychotic disorders. Mindgardens Neuroscience Network is an alliance between South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD), Neuroscience Australia (NeuRA), University of New South Wales, Sydney (UNSW) and the Black Dog Institute (BDI). TRSP service will initially develop within SESLHD and extend to greater NSW using state-of the art telehealth facilities. This newly established service will focus on excellence in multidisciplinary assessment and treatment planning and implementation, using measurement-based care and deliberate practice.
The TRSP aims to integrate multiple therapeutic approaches – including medication, psychological support and physical health care – while carefully monitoring in real time how people respond to the components of their care. We would like to hire a Project Officer who will provide administrative and research support to the TRSP and research projects running within the programme. The Project Officer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and clinician-researchers in the area of complex psychotic illness. The position will provide technical and research assistance to senior research staff in activities associated with various research projects.
Skills and Experience:
- Postgraduate qualification in relevant field (eg social science, psychology, statistics, biostatistics) or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training or experience
- High level skills in research, data analysis and data visualisation. Experience in research involving individuals with mental illness and/or their carers, will be highly regarded
- Proven project management experience, capacity to establish and meet deadlines
- Proven initiative, analytical and problem-solving skills, and close attention to detail
- Excellent computing skills and demonstrated knowledge of statistical and database software, such as SPSS, SAS, R, STATA, etc
- Experience in preparing research data for submission to academic journals
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
